A Quiet Place: Day One (2024), a prequel of the best horror franchise of the last decade about where it all went wrong when quiet can kill. A film that takes place in New York City, and tells the story of Samira / Sam (played by Lupita Nyong’o) –a terminally ill cancer patient—thrown into the midst of an alien invasion by flesh eating creatures who can hear too well. Sam goads the city with her cat Frodo by her side (Joseph Quinn who plays the British law student) as she connects with Eric. Their journey is a narrative about individual strength and humanity in the face of absolute annihilation.
