Taking place after the events of the 2016 film, when food items in a supermarket went to war against humans, Foodtopia follows Frank (Seth Rogen), Brenda (Kristen Wiig), Barry (Michael Cera), and Sammy (Edward Norton) as they try to build a utopian food society called Foodtopia. The paradise they create is under danger from natural disasters like floods, a class system based on a currency of human teeth, and a tyrannical orange, Julius (Sam Richardson), who tries to take power. Frank and Brenda try to uphold leadership, Barry becomes the chief of police, and Sammy has appointed himself a comedian. They eventually grudgingly team up with Jack (Will Forte), a human who wants to stay alive amid floods and political chaos, and provide juvenile humor, food-based puns, and social blatant commentaries on capitalism, its owners, and the abuse of power.
