Following the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara Croft is tasked with retrieving a stolen Chinese artifact she has an emotional tie to. In this pursuit she is challenged to reminisce about her past, her mentor Conrad Roth, as well as what that confusion means in her relationships. The series examines loss and guilt; the impulses of human motivation; and the complicated process of redeeming oneself – suspended between ancient tombs and more modern mayhem.
