House of David is a 2025 American biblical historical drama series created by Jon Erwin and co-directed by Jon Erwin for Amazon Prime Video. The series dramatizes the rise of David from humble shepherd to legendary king of Israel, while including the details of the politics of the time, including a backdrop of faith and conflict, leading up to the fateful battles with the giants of Goliath. Set around 1000 BC, season one follows David (Michael Iskander) after the prophet Samuel (Andrew Scott) anoints him to be the successor of Saul (Ali Suliman). David’s journey is complicated with palace politics, family rivalries, and ultimately comes to a head with his battle with Goliath (Martyn Ford).
