Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024) is the fifth Ghostbusters franchise movie and follows directly after Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021). Directed by Gil Kenan, a co-written with Jason Reitman the movie mixes in a select few of the original characters with a new generation of ghostbusters. The Spengler family are back to New York City and their original firehouse three years after Afterlife, to resurrect once again the Ghostbusters. The first Ice Age is nearly upon us when a mad scientist activates an ancient device to unleash the “Death Chill”, the supernatural menace that will stop at nothing to give the city a second coming.
