Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes (2024) is the latest in a long line of Planet of the Apes franchise films. Directed by Wes Ball, the sequel takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where apes are superior and centered on the next chapter in the existing storyline. Premised generations after Caesar’s reign in the future, we meet Noa — a young chimpanzee who is also an inter-generational chameleon whose perspective of the past informs both apes and humans’ future. The plot deals with power and legacy, oppression and evolution well in a world, where there are no clear definitions anymore.
