Mufasa: The Lion King is an upcoming 2024 American realistic CG animated musical drama film from Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Barry Jenkins and adapted from Jeff Nathanson’s play with the same title, it works as both a prequel/ sequel to the 2019 blockbustor Lion King reimagining, giving background for Mufasa and his brother Taka aka Scar in later life. The story of Mufasa, who goes from orphaned cub to the proverbial ‘King of pride’.
