Nathan “Nate” Caine (Jack Quaid) is a quiet bank worker in San Diego who suffers from congenital universal insensitivity to pain which is a unique ailment that prevents him from feeling pain in the normal way. When his colleague and crush, Sherry Margrave (Amber Midthunder) is taken hostage by a group of men who rob the bank, Nate takes advantage of his condition and goes after her. Nate is the classic mild-mannered worker with the unique condition, as he transforms into an unlikely action hero.
