Dope Thief (set in Philadelphia) is the story of recovering addict and former drug dealer Ray Driscoll (Brian Tyree Henry), a childhood friend Manny Carvalho (Wagner Moura). The two are DEA agents posing as such to rob drug dealers, an endeavor that quickly goes wrong when they get hit on the head while target practicing a meth lab with national security implications. Their mugging leads to perilous dealings with major crime circles and policing, elevating an otherwise run of the mill grift.
