The Boys (2019–) is a successful American television series created by Eric Kripke, based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It began streaming on Amazon Prime Video on July 26, 2019.

The Boys is a dark, satirical deconstruction of the superhero genre. The show’s premise is that superheroes (“Supes”) exist, but they’re incredibly corrupt, reckless, spendthrift, corrupt and controlled by a powerful corporation (Vought International) that treats Supes more like performers than heroes. Most Supes are not merely flawed; they’re vile, abusive, and morally compromised beyond anything we might regard as heroic.
