The tale revolves around Eddie Horniman (Theo James), an aristocratic former Army captain, who comes into possession of Halstead Manor, the family estate of the Hornimans, unexpectedly. Soon after taking over the manor, Eddie learns that Halstead Manor is a front for a vast underground cannabis empire run by imprisoned crime lord Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone) and his daughter Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario). Eddie must maneuver through the world of crime, while he meets many shady, dangerous people, while he tries to defend the family inheritance.
